This
type of desk set is called a "potbelly" due to the bulge in the center
section of the shaft. The Chicago potbelly has a bakelite sleeve over the potbelly
section so the user can get a better grip on the telephone. This set was found
in a boarded up drug store in the town of "Happy Camp" located near
the Klamath River in Northern California. It is now part of the Christianson
Telephone Collection.
