1902 Stromberg Carlson Common Battery Wall Set

This type of telephone was used in metropolitan areas. It utilized the "common battery" that was located in the switchroom at the telephone company. Instead of "cranking" you simply lifted the receiver to contact the operator. This particular set was purchased from an antique store in San Francisco, California. It is part of the Christianson Telephone Collection.
